Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) is one of the largest and highest profile NHS teaching hospitals in the country and an integral partner in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS). The increased focus on system-wide collaboration offers exciting possibilities to change the way that they deliver care for their patients, and the Board has a vital role to play in ensuring that these benefits are realised. They have a strong basis on which to build; with some of the lowest mortality rates in the NHS and excellent clinical outcomes, their hospitals are rated as ‘Good’ overall for the quality of care they provide, and as ‘Outstanding’ for being both caring and well led.
As they continue on their journey towards becoming an Outstanding organisation, they will be focusing on improving the responsiveness of their services, reducing waiting times and looking for innovative ways to deliver much-needed improvements in some of their buildings and facilities.
To help us with these objectives, the Council of Governors is looking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director. They are seeking a candidate with significant experience in one (or both) of the following fields: Non-acute healthcare (e.g. primary care, community care, public health) and/or social care, with a strong focus on integrated care and working collaboratively to improve patient pathways and patient experience; or digital innovation and transformation. While previous Non-Executive Director experience is highly desirable, it is not essential. Beyond this, the Board is committed to increasing its diversity and would particularly welcome applications from individuals from groups currently under-represented at Board level.
