About the organisation
The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest Groups in the NHS, with a turnover of £1.4 billion and 17,000 dedicated staff. Made up of two Trusts, Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG), they are committed to delivering world-class services for the 1,500,000 people they serve. Their dedicated workforce operates across five main hospital sites and community settings providing secondary and tertiary care to a significant sized population. They also deliver a wide range of community services across North and North East Lincolnshire, including district nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, podiatry, and specialist dental services. As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, they are a UK leader in research and innovation. They are also a significant partner in the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System.
Everything they do is guided by their vision statement United by Compassion – Driving for Excellence, reflecting their values and their ambition to improve and transform the care they provide for their local population. Whilst they continue to face a number of significant regulatory and performance challenges, an immediate response is underway to address and resolve these to provide the care and experience their staff and populations deserve. The Group is also developing an Improvement Plan to deliver better services for patients, with key priorities to live within their finances, transform their approaches to enable smarter ways of working, and build a truly engaged clinical workforce and safety culture. They are proud of the efforts their workforce has already delivered, and they remain committed to making sure that their Group is a great place to work, with their patients and communities at the heart of everything they do.
About the role
This is one of the largest roles of its kind in the country; they are therefore looking for an exceptional leader to chair their Group Board, providing strong leadership, vision, and strategic oversight. Given the size of their Group and the significant challenges they face, you will therefore need exemplary leadership skills gained at board level, supported by experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships. Your political acumen and communication skills will give you the personal credibility needed internally with staff and patients and support you to build collaborative relationships with partners within the local health and care economy to reduce health inequalities for their population. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services by sharing your talents and expertise to help transform the hospital and make a positive difference to your community.
They want their Board to be as inclusive and diverse as possible, and they are keen to attract candidates who can bring diverse perspectives. They warmly welcome expressions of interest from the widest possible range of backgrounds, particularly those who are under-represented at board level in the NHS.
