THE NETWORK FOR BLACK, ASIAN AND MINORITY ETHNIC (BAME) NEDS IN THE NHS
The Seacole Group is the network of BAME Non Executive Directors in the NHS and we have one vision: That NHS Boards reflect the ethnic diversity of patients and communities they serve.
WE ARE GROUP OF BAME NHS NEDS WHO TOGETHER BRING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OUR UNIQUE CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE TO HELP THE NHS GOVERN MORE EFFECTIVELY.
Mary Jane Seacole (née Grant; 1805 – 14 May 1881) was a British-Jamaican business woman and nurse who set up the "British Hotel" behind the lines during the Crimean War. She described this as "a mess-table and comfortable quarters for sick and convalescent officers", and provided succour for wounded servicemen on the battlefield.
OUR MISSION IS TO BE THE MOST PROGRESSIVE AND STRATEGIC VOICE FOR BAME ISSUES THAT ARE PERTINENT TO THE NHS
