About the Organisation
Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has brought together North Bristol NHS Trust and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust to create a new acute provider for Bristol and the wider South West, and is seeking an exceptional Non-Executive Director (NED) to join its Board at a pivotal moment.
Following the formation of the Group in April 2025, the two organisations merged on 1st July 2026, creating one of the largest and most influential NHS organisations in England, serving 1.5 million people, employing 28,000 staff, and delivering services across 13 sites with a £2.6bn turnover.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape a new organisation at scale, driving improvements in patient care, population health, innovation and value for money. They have a clear ambition to become an Advanced Foundation Trust, as they look to become a leader in research, innovation and integrated care.
About the Role

They are looking for candidates who can provide independent judgement, support and constructive challenge at board level, with a good understanding of governance, financial stewardship and risk management. You will be values-driven, inclusive, and motivated to make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of local communities.
