About the Organisation
NHS Providers is the membership organisation and trade association for the NHS’s provider sector. They offer unrivalled influence, voice and support to our members who account for £124bn of annual expenditure and employ 1.5 million people. They are an outstanding membership organisation responding to an extraordinary set of challenges and the wider demands faced by members at a time of operational pressure and resource constraint.
An apolitical organisation, They seek to speak with authority on healthcare matters and to influence policy. They help NHS foundation trusts and trusts to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care by enabling them to learn from each other, acting as their public voice and helping shape the system in which they operate.
About the Role
This appointment comes at an exciting and challenging time for the sector and for NHS Providers. It offers a compelling opportunity to play an important leadership role at the heart of the NHS and to exercise sector-wide influence and leadership.
The chair will work closely with the chief executive to access and to engage key influencers and policy makers, representing NHS Providers in other important but informal networks such as chairs of key statutory bodies including NHS England and Care Quality Commission, where they will fit credibly as a peer.
