As Non-Executive Directors, we have a responsibility to seek assurance that the Executive is providing the best care and services to patients and service users.  Using a “race lens”, the Seacole Group focusses on topics and areas of interest regarding outcomes for people from BAE communities in particular areas, accessing certain services . We focus on the following thematic areas:

Other Achievements:

  • Successfully launched our pioneering Young NEDS programme

  • Created a mentoring programme for new and aspirant NEDs and Chairs  

  • Published a report in partnership with Hunter Healthcare exploring the BAE NEDs recruitment experience and beyond

  • Produced a 'Recruiting for Diversity Guide' which was circulated to all NHS providers

  • Engaged with Chief Medical Officer and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on vaccination hesitancy and maternal outcomes for ethnic women

  • Contributed to the Doreen Lawrence report into COVID 19
